Down Time

At some point, every believer "runs out of gas." It's part of being human. Our forefathers did much better at keeping the "day of rest" than we do today.

Even God rested on the seventh day of Creation, definitely our BEST example of down time.

So cut yourself some slack, as we intend to do, & MAKE time for a day of rest. Spend some time with your family, or doing something that you love. And make sure to include some time in meditation, prayer, & contemplation of One bigger than yourself.

I'm finding myself at a loss for words,
And the funny thing is, it's okay.
The last thing I need is to be heard,
But to hear what You would say...

Word of God, speak!
Would You pour down like rain,

Washing my eyes to see

Your majesty?

To be still and know

That You're in this place
,
Please, let me stay and rest

In Your holiness.

Word of God, speak.

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
.
All that I need is to be with You,

And in the quiet, hear Your voice...

Word of God, speak!
Would You pour down like rain,

Washing my eyes to see

Your majesty?

To be still and know

That You're in this place
,
Please, let me stay and rest

In Your holiness.

Word of God, speak.

I'm finding myself at a loss for words,
And the funny thing is, it's okay.

  1. I long for this ... for down time ... for time to contemplate and reflect ... for time to let the Holy One pour his words over me and wash me. It has been far too long since I've been still ...
